Not KHorn
Nothing here is a Klipschorn
Everything below has been collected from the web with descriptions by me. Use at your own risk.
I don't remember where I found these. I think I recall that the story was that Bell Labs "reverse engineered" these plans from a KHorn. I think I've read that PWK worked with Bell Labs - but I'm no historian.
There are two versions. Essentially the same, but with some varying levels of legibility and different notes.
There are multiple partial versions of metric plans out there. It seems like someone once put together a complete set. But now, there are parts missing. I was never able to find the complete set.
The first includes TopHat parts, including two motorboards. Neither of which match the 9 7/8" height of the supposedly-standard-US version.
There's also a crossover schematic included. It doesn't appear to match anything "official" that I've seen posted, but it's there.
This second version comes with no explanation, no chart, nothing. There are no TopHat plans. And it is annoyingly inconsistently sized. I think maybe all the parts for the LF cabinet are in there. Maybe. The inconsistent sizes make my head hurt so I'm not swearing to it. YMMV.
I think it's a cut/paste/butchering of the plans at Volvotreter.
This third version is a German build plan with instructions. There doesn't appear to be a source/credit in it, but it looks like a published article.
I don't speak nor read German.
Another plan with the original large throat as seen in the Bell Labs versions above.
I love the way that the cabinet used to be curved.
My understanding is that Paul allowed licenses early on. Electrovoice produced the Georgian what was the KHorn low frequency cabinet combined with their drivers and horns. It was published in 1955 in Radio & Television News. Starting on page 59.
Note the large throat again - still early days.
Mostly here to show off those curves. Notice that it rather than cutting straight back to the wall at either side of the front panel, some of these older cabinets were wider. I bet if it weren't curved it'd be giving Jubilee if it were wearing grills.
Remember when I said that there are no Klipschorns here? I meant that. If you want a Klipschorn you need to buy it from an Authorized dealer, not make some clone.
